Remedial Massage

Remedial massage focuses on relieving aches and pains that arise from repetitive day-to-day activities, poor posture, injuries, loss of strength or flexibility.

You may have:

  • back pain

  • neck pain

  • sciatica

  • arthritic pain

  • repetitive work strain

  • postural problems

  • headaches and migraine

  • foot problems and sprains

The sessions will start with taking a full case history, a standing postural assessment (please bring shorts and a vest or comfortable underwear), movement tests before moving on to an appropriate treatment.

The treatment will be tailored to the clients issues, working towards short, medium and long term goals.  The treatment may be very gentle and relaxing or may involve deeper work and advanced techniques; for example, myofascial release, neuromuscular technique, soft tissue and positional release.

After the treatment there will be recommendations for next steps, which may include strengthening and stretching exercises.

"I went to see Marian with some issues I had been neglecting for decades. She has patiently and thoroughly worked with me from the root causes to the most superficial symptoms. I feel so much better, I have a better understanding of how to care for myself properly so I don't go back to my old injuries, and I just really enjoy my sessions with her. They feel so good! I would recommend anyone to go to Marian whether you just want to feel better and work out a few aches or for a longer term all over improvement."

"Marian's ability to assess the whole body, rather than focus solely on the problem I presented her with, has enabled me to begin to rectify years of bad posture and neck pain which had been affecting my body for decades. Not only does her powerful massage technique help to 'reawaken' my body to its bad habits but it also has helped to confront the pain and embark on the much needed re-education process. I am feeling so much better and more in control of my health and well being due to a series of six treatments."
